Policies and Code of Conduct

Advertising

Stitching horseAll of my advertising will be clear, truthful, and accurate and will not intentionally mislead any customer about the services offered or goods for sale. No goods for sale or services will be advertised unless those goods and services will be available when the advertisement appears before the public. I will not display any notice or sign which may mislead the customer who has purchased goods subsequently found to be faulty about its legal rights.

Work Projects

The materials used in work projects will be fit for the purpose and work will be carried out in a proper manner. All work projects will be completed within a reasonable period of time. Every attempt will be made to avoid damage during repairs. I will not undertake a project if, in my opinion, the project cannot be done in a satisfactory manner and I will so inform the customer. Each customer will receive a written estimate of the project cost and an estimated date on which the project will be completed.

Exclusion of Liability

Where a repair is especially difficult and a perfect repair cannot be guaranteed or where there is an obvious risk that the tack might be damaged while being repaired, I will explain this to the customer. If the customer still wishes the repair to be done, I will note in writing our agreement on the limits of my liability.

Goods and Services Sold

Any goods I sell will meet with the description given on the label, by me, or elsewhere.

Any goods we sell will be of satisfactory quality — the goods must meet the standard a reasonable person would regard as satisfactory, taking account of any description of the goods, the price (if relevant) and all other relevant circumstances.

If the customer asks for the goods to perform a specific purpose, then the goods supplied must serve that specific purpose. If I am not confident that the goods will meet the particular requirement, I will so inform the customer.

All goods to be sold will clearly indicate the cash price at which they are offered for sale.

Price Reductions

Where a price reduction is offered, I will ensure that the customer can clearly understand and verify the reduced price. I will not use imprecise comparisons with claims of 'worth', 'value' and 'price elsewhere'.

Deposits

When I accept a deposit for goods to be ordered or services to be provided, I will give the customer a receipt and will indicate as clearly as possible the expected delivery date. If delivery is not made within one month of the date specified, the customer will have a full refund if desired. I reserve the right to dispose of the goods if the goods are not collected within one month of the specified date.

Disposal of Uncollected Articles

Any article left for repair that is not collected within three months may be disposed of and the proceeds may be applied to defray any costs associated with disposal or the repair. This right will be exercised only after all reasonable attempts have been made to contact the customer with the view to the customer collecting the articles and paying the appropriate charge.

Advice

I will always be ready to offer advice about the repair of tack, in particular the materials to be used, and about subsequent care needed for the tack.

Complaints

Repairs

In the event of a repair being unsatisfactory as a result of defective materials or poor work, I will offer to correct the defect promptly and without charge.

Goods

All complaints will be dealt with promptly and politely. If a customer’s complaint is valid, I will negotiate with the customer to (1) have the purchase money returned, (2) replace the goods with similar goods, or (3) remedy the defect myself.
